Newbie’s Journal: Look What I Found

This is a diary of a newbie WYD player. In this new feature, he shares his adventures, joys and pains in the world of Khersuph.

WYD Global has been a fixture for most of us for so long that sometimes we forget what the old days brought to the game. While the current state of WYD looks to have a bright future, it is important to note that we would not have come this far without the efforts of the past. Such a relic of WYD’s past is this video I’ve uncovered from the archives. Who would’ve thought that WYD actually had a video like this to promote it, huh? Even myself, who’s been playing for quite a while now was surprised to see this. For a five year old game, I can definitely say that WYD has had a good run so far and I’m hoping it continues for even more years.

That was quite thrilling wasn’t it? Considering WYD Global has been a part of my everyday life already, I never thought that it also started much like any other MMO nowadays. Of course, production values nowadays are much much higher but for its time, WYD certainly had some great marketing materials. Of course, the bottom line still remains to be the quality of the game. Being in the MMO world for already 5 years, do you think WYD has done well for itself? I think the answer’s pretty obvious.

CM’s Diaries: An Excited Huntress

CM Chloe drops by to give players a glimpse of what to expect in September in WYD Global. She promises a lot of new events but is particularly excited about a hunting event that will keep players scrambling and fighting for their lives.

Hi everyone! CM Chloe here. It’s near the end of the month and as expected, we’re already gearing up for the next events for September. Of course the first question everyone would ask is “what are those events?” Though we can’t announce all of them fully yet (my boss will kill me), I can give you some tidbits and hints on what to expect next month.

  • Water Scrolls your fancy? We’ll make it even more tempting for you to buy them with a new event that will put the word “value purchase” on your shopping experience.
  • Are you a money-maker? If you are then you’re in for a treat.
  • Price high or price low? Test your financial knowledge in the WYD world with this new game.
  • The King has arrived. Follow his challenging commands and you might be a trusted confidant of his’ soon.

However, more than those events I mentioned above, the one event that I’m really excited about is a free-for-all hunting spree we’ll be introducing. What will you be hunting? How to go about it? We’ll be revealing those soon but as someone with a mean competitive streak, this will be a perfect event for me and for those who want to feel their blood curl and their nerves tingle in anticipation. Oh, and don’t forget about the prize in store. While this event won’t be easy at all (I think it’s plenty difficult actually), the prize for succeeding is definitely worth the effort. The only question is: “Can you do it?”

Be sure to check up on the blog every so often as we’ll be announcing the new events slowly soon.

Signing out now.

Newbie’s Journal: Evolving WYD

This is a diary of a newbie WYD player. In this new feature, he shares his adventures, joys and pains in the world of Khersuph.

I’ve mentioned before that there really was a WYD World Championship initiated years ago and while those days have already gone by, it doesn’t hurt to revisit the rich history of WYD as a whole. In fact, I’ve grown to appreciate the growth that WYD Global has gone through by watching these clips. It really does show how WYD Global became the truly global game it is today. Back then, WYD had a lot of servers and while it was fun, I believe that a truly global game that encapsulates the entire span of the world is much more intriguing and exciting.

Where does the World War come into play? Well, it’s basically the first glimpse of what was to come in the following years. It opened up opportunities yet to be realized back then which we are enjoying now in WYD.

The video above shows a battle between what used to be WYD Global and WYD Philippines. It might seem like a surprising thing now since the Philippines actually has a lot of WYD Global players but it does show how much the game has progressed over the years. Regardless of which side won, it just proves how WYD is such a global game for all people of different origins. When a game can bring together people of different backgrounds and provide the same level of excitement for everyone, then in my opinion, that game is really special, unique and most importantly, long lasting.
